Blacklist Monitoring now imports Google Postmaster Tools data for your domains. Connect a Google account with read-only access and we pull each verified domain's Gmail metrics once a day, compare them against your thresholds, and raise an alert when a number moves the wrong way. It is a premium source, available on any plan that includes premium data sources.
What We Import
Two kinds of data come in for every domain registered in your Postmaster Tools account.
Rate metrics, checked against thresholds you set per connection:
- Spam rate (user-reported)
- Delivery error rate
- SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication rates
- TLS inbound and outbound encryption rates
Compliance status against Google's sender requirements, reported as passing, failing, or no data:
- SPF, DKIM, DMARC policy, and DMARC alignment
- DNS records, encryption, and user-reported spam
- One-click unsubscribe and honor unsubscribe
Google only judges a requirement once it has seen enough mail from the domain. A requirement it has not reported shows as no data and does not count as a failure.
Alerts and Thresholds
Each of the sixteen data points is its own source on your Monitoring Profile, so an alert on spam rate looks and routes exactly like a blacklist listing. Rate checks fire when spam rate or delivery errors go above the threshold, or when an authentication or TLS rate drops below it. Compliance checks fire when Google reports the requirement as failing.
Default thresholds follow Google's published guidance, including a 0.10% spam-rate ceiling. Each connection also has a minimum daily message volume (150 by default) so a handful of messages on a quiet day cannot produce a 100% spam rate and a false listing. Google publishes with a 1 to 3 day lag, and an alert clears on its own once a healthy value is imported.
Graphs
Every connection has a stats page with per-domain charts for message volume, spam rate, delivery error rate, authentication rates, and TLS encryption rates, plus a compliance card showing each requirement as a tile and Google's overall deliverability verdict. The first import back-fills up to 90 days of history, so the charts are useful the day you connect.
Getting Started
Your domains must already be registered and verified in Google Postmaster Tools. Then, from RBL Monitoring > Postmaster Tools, click Connect Google Account, approve read-only access, pick the domains to monitor, and set your thresholds. Spam Rate and Delivery Errors are enabled on your profiles by default; the authentication, TLS, and compliance checks are off until you turn them on under Monitoring Profiles > Data Sources. You can connect up to five Google accounts.
